Gender: | Males have the bluer colored tails. But females can and many times will have a lighter blue tail. Males also have a modified anal fish with a gonopodium. |
Breeding: | Like most livebearers, the female is internally fertilized by the male. Fry are usually large enough that the parents will not eat them. Have a good plant cover on the surface for the fry to hide in though. The female gestation period is app 60 days. |

Comments: | This is fish is endangered, and listed on the Red List. Even though, it is available through many live bearer clubs and orginizations. A nice looking livebearer that still resembles its wild form in all those bred in captivity. |
